Angels Clinch Postseason Berth, Suck
The California Anaheim Los Angeles Angels do not understand how offense works. The team’s reluctance to acknowledge the importance of plate discipline manifested itself in a bizarre and exhibitionatory manner last Thursday, when second baseman Sean Rodriguez struck out on a 4-2 pitch from the Tigers’ Aquilino Lopez.
While it was umpire Tim Welke’s fault for not calling the walk, no one on the Angels’ bench, including manager Mike Scioscia, even noticed that anything was askew. Makes sense, coming from the team currently sitting 12th in the league in walks. Maybe they actually don’t know about walking.
I’m so sick of the Angels. Fuck them for exploiting their four-team division and getting to the postseason every year with clearly inferior teams. How is it anything like fair that this team begins every season with a 25% chance of making the playoffs while every other team outside of the AL West opens with a 20%, or in the case of the NL Central, a 16.6% chance?

I could not agree with this more. I wrote about this in my NL Central preview. If the Brew Crew didn’t have a dopey commish as their former owner, they would have taken action on this abomination.
