With today’s announcement that Dustin Pedroia has been elected AL MVP by the BBWAA, the writers finish the awards voting with a 60% agreement rate with Rake Blog. The awards in which we differed: I chose CC Sabathia for NL Cy Young while the establishment went with Tim Lincecum (who I had as a runner up), and I chose A-Rod (150 OPS+) over Pedroia (122 OPS+) for AL MVP. Pedroia had a nice year, but I would have gone with any number of players over him in terms of value, inluding Grady Sizemore, Carlos Quentin, Nick Markakis, Josh Hamilton, Kevin Youkilis and Joe Mauer.
